What are some good knitting books?
I was in a bookstore the other day and got sidetracked by the craft section. The knitting pattern books were so expensive :(((
what are some ones (not “how to knit” necessarily, but fun, contemporary patterns) worth buying??
Are you absolutely set on them being books? Because if not, I suggest you head over to www.ravelry.com where they have thousands and thousands of patterns, lots of them free, and an excellent pattern searcher. Plus if you find patterns you like, it will also tell you which book they are/were in!

Just made my first Etsy Sale- hurrah! Looking forward to restocking in January with new and exciting items!

I muckup the first stitch every time so it will be like one stitch wide when I am done.
If you’re having trouble with the first stitch, you could try simply sliding the first stitch of each row from one needle to the other without knitting it (known as ‘slipping’ the stitch), then knit from the second stitch onwards- this is a genuine technique to get a nice edge, believe it or not!

Oh my goodness- trying to find aran weight yarns in chocolate colours (chocolate, mid brown/caramel, cream and white) in a soft yarn for a baby blanket is proving far more complex than I thought! Stupid baby yarns all want to be pastels. And trying to find a nice aran weight cotton yarn in those colours is damn nigh impossible! I don’t really want to use acrylic for this one either, as it’ll probably end up an heirloom :p
I’m in England normally, but will be over in the USA in January- can anyone think of yarns that might work and are relatively affordable?

ALL I WANT IS:
Some sort of help or clue on how to knit dolls so I can knit up Niall Horan and Ed Sheeran, is that so much to ask!
PS: Not Crochet, I can’t crochet yet..
Try this ravelry pattern: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/lottie-doll-basic-body
(Or a ravelry search!) Hope it helps!

What is a good website with free and easy knitting patterns for beginners?
Beginners here meaning I’ve only learnt to purl in the last few weeks and have never made anything aside from a long column of knit. Also I’m left handed so any lefty tuts would be awesome
If you’re just starting out, the absolute best thing you will ever do will be to go look at Ravelry. Free signup and it’s got millions of patterns, helpful forums and an absolutely brilliant pattern finder, as well as links to all of the projects people have done and how easy/hard they found it- invaluable! Good luck!
