the lesser redcapped hutgirl- a study

Ok, so I’ve been ridiculously remiss at updating for the past *cough* month *cough*- but I have a good excuse!!  The boy is here, and we’ve been busy gallivanting all over the North east of England- (you can see what he’s been up to here http://summer-abroad.tumblr.com/ if you want :p) As a result, I’ve had relatively little internetty/tumblry time, especially as (the horrrrror!) I’ve also been very busy at work.  However, today I am flatly refusing to go delving into my emails for at least the next hour, so I get a chance to do an update!  Yey!

Crochet-wise, I tried making some plarn out of old carrier bags to crochet a hat, but I miscounted my increases and ended up with a big, wobbly edged disc that I can’t seem to think of a use for :/  I think it might be headed for the recycling bin, but hey, no yarn was wasted in the making of this oddity :)

Knitting wise (I know I STILL haven’t posted the pics of the wristlets I created on holiday in Scotland) the boy and I are joint knitting a baby blanket for hs first nephew/neice, due at the end of summer.  The pattern was one I found on Ravelry called ‘Easy Old Shale’ and it’s beautiful, lacey and wavy and so nice!  I’m doing the purl and yarn over rows, and the boy is doing the two knit rows :D

I did jump projects yesterday though- knitting a little monkey for my sister’s birthday next week- such a cool little pattern and I’m going to HAVE to take multiple pics!

Other than that, apart from lots of cooking, I’ve done relatively little of note apart from the adventures…
