A flying update, as too much to cram into today! There are some days that can be turned around by the smallest of things. Today’s thing was reaching the supermarket just as they were setting out the reduced stock- I got scallops, 2 whole crabs and about 6 Scottish undyed kippers for £6, a potted thyme, a coriander and a mint plant for 30p each, a whole chicken for £1.75 and a BIG box of mushrooms for 75p- result? The Hutgirl and light sensitivity
We once again encountered the issue of light sensitivity with the Hutgirl this weekend. For several years now there has been some sort of mysterious neurological problem that affects her eyes- having manifested in the past as a VIth nerve palsy and more recently, abnormal swelling requiring a biopsy, it seems to have settled currently into an aversion to bright light and rapidly moving images in...

Eep! My fuschia plugs have just arrived- I’d almost forgotten I’d ordered them, and can’t really remember where I’d planned to plant them now :/ I would plant them along my grass at the front, but don’t want my neighbours to get any pleasure at all from my gardening :( (Which sounds horrible, but there is a story behind it!)

Phase one of garden makeover nearllllly complete! Have moved the strawberry BBQ over to the edge of the shed and shuffled the rabbit hutches up into a corner, as they have no bunnies in them currently to be affronted by this.
I’ve taken up the back plank of the deck to expose the soil beneath, and this will be where my raspberries and sweet peas...
